We have many years experience writing software, for web page design we use HTML, Java Script, Perl and PHP languages with professional design software such as Actinic Designer to provide a complete service.

Our first web design, a simple multi screen web site, was produced over ten years ago, since then we have progressed to full ecommerce sites using Actinic as our solution and can now provide the full service from web design to hosting solutions and Search Engine Optimisation. One very successful project is our design for Fiddlesticks wool shop in Honiton Devon which now contains over 150 pages of different products. Recently voted by Simply Knitting magazine as 'A friendly online experience making your virtual experience as close to that of visiting a real shop as is humanly possible', our aim is to produce a web site that meets your requirements.

Brochure Web Site

A brochure web site is an advertising medium similar to a sales brochure but unlike the brochure you can make changes quickly and without having to reprint the document. There is no need for a distribution service as this is taken care of by the web, your brochure is available to any one searching the web providing that the search engines have details of the site.

This type of web site may have only one page or maybe several pages aimed at simply advertising your capabilities and providing contact information about you.

eCommerce

We supply eCommerce sites based on the Actinic design software and can provide the complete web site including provision of web hosting, Search Engine Optimisation, and site maintenance. One very successful project is our design for fiddlesticks wool shop in Honiton Devon with over 150 pages and after twelve months it now ranks in the top pages for its most important search phrases. This design is based around the Actinic ecommerce solution which provides all the necessary facilities to run the complete web operation including online ordering and collection of payment via secure credit card payments.

We are using the Actinic software to run this site even though we do not use it as an eCommerce site, Actnic can be used as a Content Management System as we do here to produce a site that can then be switched to full eCommerce with the minimum of extra work.

Tod Designs are an accredited Actinic Developer with experience in developing sites using either Actinic V8 or V9. We are also an active member of the Actinic Community with experience in solving problems and developing new methods to use the software. We have used several hosting companies and can advise on the best hosts for Actinic sites and also which to avoid.

Fully managed Web Site

This is a full managed service which includes purchase of domain name ( if available), contracting site hosting, setting up the site with ecommerce facilities, providing full search engine optimisation covering a 12 month renweable contract.

This site will change from time to time as we test out other designs on a live web site.

Current Designs

C Millington & Sons have been running a web site based on the Joomla and VirtueMart package since 2004, however even after four years the site has no real position with the Google search engine, and is receiving less than fifty visitors per week.

Tod Designs was asked to take over the site and to improve the usefulness of the site for the company.
