We have many years experience writing software, for web page design we use HTML, Java Script, Perl and PHP languages with professional design software such as Actinic Designer to provide a complete service, including modification of Actinic reports using Crystal Reports V8.5.

Our first web design, a simple multi screen web site, was produced over ten years ago, since then we have progressed to full ecommerce sites using Actinic as our solution and can now provide the full service from web design to hosting solutions and Search Engine Optimisation, our aim is to produce a web site that meets your requirements.

This site is designed in Actinic V9.05 but is based on css techniques not the usual table design favoured by Actinic.

The graphics were inspired by visiting a css design web site, which unfortunately does not work on all browsers, and then finding the brilliant transparent imagery and css wizardy of Scott Schiller.

The menu system is generated using a series of PHP subroutines that use the Actinic database to produce an html listing, which works with a javascript to produce the accordian effect.
The menu system which can generate multiple menus including alphabetical listing of all products or just specific sections of a site based on the section name, is integrated into the Actinic layout.

The tabbed text on the various pages is another customisation that we have done using javascript and the jquery library and the various buttons are customised using specialist graphics software.

Often shortened to SEO this is the use of techniques to optimise the web site so that it appears in the first pages of the search engine results for specific phrases relating to the web site. You will find that the Fiddlesticks online web site appears on the first page for many of the phrases that relate to a wool shop which in turn brings more business to the site.

This has been achieved without the need to pay for advertising on the search engines by optimising the web site to meet the requirements of the search engines. It is current thinking that a web site needs to appear on the first two pages of the search engine results for those phrases that are likely to be used by potential customers. Tod Designs are well versed in SEO techniques and offer a monitoring service providing monthly reports showing the search engine positions for your web site.

This site is designed in Actinic V9.05 incorporating a graphics plugin we have designed, using the jquery library, and a menu system designed using PHP code to generate the menu listing from the Actinic database.

The menu system is based on work by Gabriel Crowe whose inspirational PHP navigation code provided free on the Actinic forum, formed the basis of our work on the navigation for this site.

The flowing transparent images are based on work by Scott Schiller who produced the brilliant css based code.
